Frequently asked questions

The short answers. Still curious? Get in touch.

How much does SurgNet cost?
SurgNet is free during the pilot. We will share pricing well before that changes, and pilot members will be the first to know. We will never charge you retrospectively.
Who can join?
Surgeons who need assisting cover, qualified surgical assistants, and GPs interested in surgical assisting or refining skills like skin surgery. Every account is checked before approval, including AHPRA registration.
How does verification work?
When you sign up we capture your AHPRA registration and credentials, and a person reviews them against the public AHPRA register before your account is approved. This keeps the platform limited to genuine, registered practitioners.
Is SurgNet endorsed by AHPRA or a college?
No, and we will never claim to be. Our verification confirms that a registration exists and is current on the public register. It does not represent endorsement by AHPRA, RACS or any other body, and we would rather be upfront about that.
Can one account do both roles?
Yes. A single SurgNet account supports both surgeon and assistant, with the right tools shown for each.
Can my rooms staff manage lists for me?
Yes. A surgeon can invite their rooms or practice staff to post and manage lists on their behalf. You choose exactly who, you can revoke access at any time, and every action a delegate takes is recorded against them.
Do you store patient information?
No. SurgNet handles the logistics of a list: hospital, date, times, procedures and who is assisting. It is not a medical record and holds no patient details. Our Terms of Use prohibit entering patient information, and the app warns you if something in a list looks like a patient identifier.
Is my data safe?
Privacy comes first. Your records are stored in Australia (Sydney), access rules are enforced inside the database itself, and you control how your contact details are shared. We collect only what we need and never sell it. See our Privacy Policy for detail.
Is there a mobile app?
SurgNet works as an app on your phone. Open it in your browser and choose "Install" (or "Add to Home Screen") and it behaves like a native app, including push notifications for new lists, applicants and reminders. No app store needed, and updates are automatic.
Does SurgNet handle billing or payments?
No. Fees, billing and informed financial consent stay entirely between the surgeon and the assistant, exactly as they do now. SurgNet helps you find each other; the professional arrangement is yours.
Can I delete my account and data?
Yes. Email info@surgnet.com.au and we will delete your account and associated records, as set out in our Privacy Policy.
When can I start using it?
SurgNet is live and we are onboarding a small pilot group now. Join the waitlist and we will bring you in as the pilot expands.
